Coordinated provision of appropriate HIV care, treatment and support services

Through a coordinated response by Extended Hands Uganda; the use of VHT structures and the health facility unit staff within the four selected sub counties of Etam, Namasale in Amolatar  and  Ojwina, Ogur in Lira district the PHAs (HIV positive women, HIV exposed Children, male partners, discordant couples and TB patients) were fully mobilized to access the available ART services.

Extended Hands Uganda was effectively maximizing its expertise in the field of community HIV/AIDS programming to establish an excellent strategic partnerships, referral and linkages in the provision of comprehensive HIV and AIDS services in the two districts by ensuring that no HIV positive women delivers at home, all TB patients are screened and tested for HIV, risk reduction counseling done for the discordant couples, all HIV + women access family planning. The project support services that target adults, adolescents and children living with HIV, their families and the entire communities within the project area
